Wilderness Access Trip

As a life long environmentalist and public speaker, I came to understand - preservation work is most common in those who have experienced the wilderness, and sadly, a large population of urban youth were restricted geographically or financially.

I founded a program in partnership with Sixth Street Community Center in East Village NYC and the YMCA of the Pines to provide free access to the wilderness, with further sponsorship from Patagonia.

This experience was an overnight backpacking journey through the Pinelands National Reserve and included back-packing supplies, wilderness guides, environmental education, and unforgettable memories in nature - inspiring the next generation of urban conservationists.
